Even though Alabama will be playing outside when it hosts New Mexico State at Bryant-Denny Stadium, it went inside to practice on Wednesday.
It was 92 degrees and sunny when practice began.
The forecast for Saturday is sunny and 99 degrees. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
Alabama offensive lineman Emil Ekiyor Jr. (knee) remained out.
Still out among the defensive linemen was true freshman Justin Eboigbe (foot), but he was riding a bike on the sideline during practice.
“Justin was a guy that was in the two-deep and has been injured and we hope will come back in a week or two,” Nick Saban said. “We’ve got lots of young players at that position that we’re trying to develop, so that’s certainly something that we’re working on to try to develop some of these young players so that we can get the kind of depth that we need to sustain the season.”
Junior safety Xavier McKinney has been practicing with s cast on his hand (see video) this week.
There were no changes with the first-team offensive line. The second unit was, from left to right, Scott Lashley, Kendall Randolph, Darrian Dalcourt, Matt Womack and Tommy Brown.
Jordan Battle was shadowing Shyheim Carter in the dime package.
