Fourth-year player in running for nation's best tight end honor

Alabama redshirt junior Miller Forristall was been named to the 2019 John Mackey Watch List on Friday morning.

He's one of 60 national candidates for the award honoring college football's top high end.

Forristall is poised to take over the starting job following the departures of Hale Hentges and Irv Smith Jr. He's played in 33 career games with two starts, and made six receptions for 85 yards.

The semifinalists will be named Nov. 18. A Crimson Tide player has never won the Mackey Award.

Meanwhile, the first watch list that didn't include an Alabama player was also released, the Rimington Award for best center.
