Practice report: Shane Lee leading interior linebackers through drills

Crimson Tide getting two freshmen ready to start at interior linebacker

Alabama practiced inside in shoulder pads Wednesday.

With Dylan Moses (knee) out, Shane Lee was leading the inside linebackers through drills. In all my years of covering the Crimson Tide I don’t think I’ve seen a true freshman do that before.

The offensive line looks set. Landon Dickerson was at left guard and Chris Owens at center.

Senior Matt Womack was at left tackle on the second unit, next to freshman Pierce Quick at left guard and Emil Ekiyor Jr. at center. Kendall Randolph was the right guard.

Still missing among the defensive linemen was true freshman Justin Eboigbe (foot), making it very unlikely he’ll play against Duke on Saturday.

Redshirt freshman Stephon Wynn true freshman end Antonio Alfano went through drills.

None of the four players who will reportedly miss the first half due to a suspension — Najee Harris, Brian Robinson Jr., DeVonta Smith or Terrell Lewis — were doing anything unusual.

Nick Saban will address reporters after practice.

Injury rundown

• Junior interior linebacker Dylan Moses: Out indefinitely with a knee injury.

• Redshirt junior cornerback Nigel Knott: Out indefinitely with what Nick Saban has only described as a medical issue.

• Senior interior linebacker Josh McMillon: Out indefinitely with a knee injury.

• Freshman running back Trey Sanders: Out indefinitely with a left foot injury.
