Arizona has scheduled a home-and-home series against Illinois, which is sure to stir up some painful memories for UA fans.
The programs will play next season in Tucson on Nov. 10, 2019. The Wildcats will head to Champaign to play on Dec. 12, 2020.
"Since I came to Illinois in March 2017 I've talked about the importance of playing a great schedule," Illinois coach Brad Underwood said in a statement.
"It's a win-win for everyone; these are the types of games that players want to play in, recruits want to be part of, and fans want to watch and attend. Arizona is a tremendous team, and there is a shared history between our two programs that will create quite a bit of excitement as the next two chapters of this series unfold in Tucson and Champaign."
Arizona leads the series 8-6 but is trying to forget the chapter from the 2005 Elite Eight game in Rosemont, Ill., as the Illinois rallied from a late 15-point deficit to win 90-89 in overtime. That was the last good chance Lute Olson would get at another Final Four.
