Bears capture road win over Arizona, 58-49

The Baylor Bears gave their nonconference resume a facelift by defeating Arizona, 58-49, on the Wildcats’ home floor on Saturday night in Tucson, Arizona.
Guard Makai Mason scored a game-high 22 points and grabbed 7 rebounds to lead Baylor. Forward Mario Kegler added 13 and forward Mark Vital swiped 16 rebounds to help bolster Mason’s scoring effort.
Kegler made a layup on an assist from Matthew Mayer and hit a 3-pointer to start an 11-2 run that gave Baylor a 50-39 lead with 3:24 left.
Arizona (7-4) couldn’t answer and never got back within six points of the Bears (6-3).
Baylor out-rebounded the Wildcats, 50-19.
The Bears’ season continues this week with home games on Tuesday against Stephen F. Austin and Friday versus Oregon.
