The Bears host a pretty big nonconference tilt on Saturday when the Duke Blue Devils come to town. Not only is it a Power 5 battle, it's a battle of 2-0 Power 5 teams.
Here are four Baylor players we'll be watching closely:
QB Charlie Brewer showed why he is Baylor’s quarterback of the future and the present as he posted a 300-yard passing game with 3 touchdown tosses in leading the Bears to a 37-20 victory over Texas-San Antonio. He’ll likely continue to split time with QB Jalan McClendon, but now Baylor fans can more easily remember that Brewer was pretty good as a freshman last season.
RB John Lovett led Bears runners with 47 rushing yards at UTSA and also leads the team in rushing yards for the season with 162. He and fellow RB JaMycal Hasty have each scored three touchdowns.
WR Jalen Hurd hauled in 8 catches for 136 yards and a TD in the win over UTSA. He’s turning into a prime weapon for the Bears offense and they’re going to need him again versus Duke on Saturday.
LB Terrel Bernard, who had an interception and 1 tackles in the season-opener, got more playing time and posted a team-leading 7 tackles, including a sack against UTSA.
