After putting Sam Acho on injured reserve, the Bears filled out their roster by adding a player familiar with coach Matt Nagy and his offense.
Guard/tackle Bryan Witzmann was signed and put on the 53-man roster.
Witzmann started 13 games last year for the Chiefs, and was released in September this season, before being picked up by the Vikings. He was then cut by the Vikings after he lost a battle for the starting left guard spot to Cameron Erving.
Witzmann is 6-foot-8, 313 pounds and played at South Dakota State. The Bears’ interest in Witzmann is for depth, especially at tackle where Bradley Sowell is their only experienced reserve.
Acho is out for the year with a torn pectoral muscle suffered against Tampa Bay.
