The Cincinnati Bengals haven't produced the most talent in the NFL over the past decade or so, but they haven't been the worst either. They have more than competent players who know how to compete at a high level.
Some of these players are among the best in the league at their respective positions, and could even make a case for the Hall of Fame one day.
Sporting News released an article that tagged a percent chance to each player who may be worthy of making the NFL Hall of Fame one day. Just two Bengals players made this list: wide receiver A.J Green and defensive tackle Geno Atkins.
Here is what Sporting News had to say about the 'potential' Hall of Fame players they chose for the Bengals:
"[A.J.] Green and [Julio] Jones will soon be hanging with other receiving greats in the Hall forever. Inside pass-rushers of [Geno Atkins'] caliber stand out in the process, even if the limited attention beyond Cincy hurts him a little."
Sporting news gave A.J. Green a 100 percent chance of hearing his name called to Canton one day, while Geno Atkins earned a respectable 80 percent chance to do the same. No other player currently on the Bengals roster was given a chance to make the Hall of Fame.
This isn't to say that it's not possible. The Bengals have a lot of young talent, and it's too early to tell how players like Joe Mixon, Jessie Bates, Jonah Williams could eventually develop into stars in the NFL.
A.J. Green is certainly deserving of the Hall of fame. He has made the Pro Bowl in 7 of 8 NFL seasons, and missed out last year due to injury. He has consistently been one of the st receivers in the league, and is still going strong at 30 years old.
Geno Atkins is also widely regarded as one of the best penetrating defensive tackles in the league. His resume is equally as impressive as Green's - making the Pro Bowl 5 straight years (7 of 9 seasons) with 2 All-Pros to boot.
There is a strong chance that both of these players could see their names called to Canton one day. Only time will tell which Bengals will be next in line to follow in their footsteps.
Here is a breakdown of each potential Hall of Fame player in the AFC North.
