The Cincinnati Bengals 2019 preseason is set to kick off Saturday night, and we have a first look at their updated depth chart heading into their first action of the year:
Some of the surprises include Sam Hubbard listed as a first team defensive end - a job occupied by Jordan Willis last year.
Hubbard showed a lot of promise in his rookie season, and will apparently get the first nod at right end.
Interestingly, C.J. Uzomah continues be listed ahead of Tyler Eifert at tight end, through the latter is returning from injury. Eifert was a Pro Bowl tight end back in 2015, but he has been decimated by injuries over the past three seasons. As a result, he has started just 4 games in three years.
It is also worth noting that Josh Malone is backing up A.J. Green in the latest Bengals depth chart, and Germaine Pratt is first in line behind Jordan Evans at Will linebacker.
It's still very early, and a lot could change on this depth chart as we inch closer toward the NFL season. Still, some of these changes are interesting to note. We will continue to follow closely until the official depth chart is listed at the beginning of the season.
