Cal Basketball: Bears Awaiting Decision of Greek Recruit

Dimitrios Klonaras reportedly visited Cal last weekend

Cal is still awaiting a decision from Greek guard Dimitrios Klonaras, who reportedly visited the Cal campus over the weekend and was subsequently offered a scholarship.

The 6-foot-5 Klanaras is a 2019 recruit, so he would play this comming season. Hawaii and Loyola Marymount are the other schools that offered him a scholarship, according to Verbal Commits.

He is rated a two-star recruit, but since he is from Greece not much is known about him. Most of the recruiting websites don't include him in their ratings.

Here is some video of Klonaras in action with some description of him. He plays for the Greek team PAOK.

May 16-24 is a dead period for basketball recruiting, which means no in-person recruiting contacts or evaluations, and official and unofficial visits by recruits to the college’s campus are not permitted.

Cal already has three incoming freshmen committed for the 2019-20 season -- DJ Thorpe, Joel Brown and Kuany Kuany. Kuany is the only one that committed after Mark Fox was hired by Cal.

(Connor Vanover explains why he transferred to Arkansas.)
