Cal Basketball Video: Mark Fox Introduces Andrew Francis

Francis expected to bring the Bears a recruiting presence in the East and Midwest

Andrew Francis completed a gradual trek across the country with his arrival at Cal as an assistant on new coach Mark Fox’s staff.

Francis was born in New York and coached at both Villanova (Philadelphia) and Siena (Loudonville, NY) before spending the past nine years working for Fran McCaffery at Iowa.

Iowa won 23 games this past season — its second-highest total in a decade — and was ranked in the Top-25 much of the season.

As a result, Fox believes Francis will give the Bears a strong recruiting presence in both the East and Midwest.
