Cal Basketball Video: The First One Went In & Connor Vanover Just Kept Shooting

Freshman big man has the game of his life to boost Bears to a 64-59 victory at Stanford

For the second time this season, Connor Vanover has chosen Cal rival Stanford to unleash a career performance.

Five weeks after the 7-foot-3 freshman scored a then-career-best 15 points against the Cardinal, he went for 24 points as the Bears won 64-59 to close the Pac-12 regular-season schedule with three straight victories.

Vancouver shot 9 of 12 from the field, made a career-high five 3-pointers, blocked a career-high six shots and played a career-high 32 minutes. He also grabbed five rebounds.

The only 3-pointer he missed came when he received a pass with barely 2 seconds left on the shot clock and quickly heaved up a shot.
