Cal Women's Basketball Video: `I Had An Unbelievable Job . . . This is My Place'

Before taking Cavaliers' job, Lindsay Gottlieb had to wrap her mind around leaving a place she loves

The Cleveland Cavaliers made Lindsay Gottlieb an offer she could't refuse: The chance to coach in the NBA.

But before Gottlieb accepted a four-year contract as an assistant on John Beilein's staff, she had to consider departing what she said was the only college coaching job she ever wanted. Calling her eight-year assignment at Berkeley "unbelievable," Gottlieb said, "This is my place."

Ultimately, the chance to coach at basketball's highest level -- where so few women have been given an opportunity -- was more than Gottlieb, 41, could turn down.

She begins her new position Monday. Cal already has begun a search for a permanent replacement.
