With Will Craig done for the season, true freshman McKade Mettauer becomes Cal's new starter on the offensive line.
Mettauer made his first career start against Washington on Saturday, playing guard, while Valentino Daltoso moved from guard to tackle to occupy Craig's position.
Mettauer thought he did OK.
"I felt like I proved that I deserved to be in that position," he said in the video.
Mettauer was part of an offensive line that was effective in the second half against the Huskies. Cal had only four possessions in the second half, and it had scoring drives of more than 70 yards on three of them, including the final drive that ended with the game-winning field goal.
