Cal Baseball: Bears Coach Discusses Importance of Series Against No. 2 Stanford

Cal coach Mike Neu talks about about pivotal three-game series against Cardinal that starts tonight (Friday).

Cal wants to get to the postseason for the first time since 2015, and the Bears would like to win a season series from Stanford for the first time since 2008.

Cal could enhance both those opportunities when it opens a three-game series against the second-ranked Cardinal tonight (Friday) at Cal's Evans Diamond.

Stanford (35-8, 17-4 Pac-12) is tied for first place in the Pac-12 and Cal (28-15, 13-8) is fourth. But Cal is 17-4 over its last 21 games and is riding a five-game winning streak, the longest active streak in the conference.

As an added attraction, Stanford's head coach, David Esquer, was Cal's head coach two years ago and recruited many of the current Cal players to Berkeley.

Mike Neu is Cal's head coach now and he talks about the series in the video above.
