Three more qualifiers during Saturday’s final action at the NCAA West prelims gives Cal a total of eight entries into the NCAA Track and Field Championships, June 5-8 at Austin, Texas.

Junior triple jumper Tuomas Kaukolahti, senior 110-meter hurdler Misana Viltz and junior Zion Corrales-Nelson all qualified in Sacramento to advance to the nationals.

They join senior Rebecca Croft in the women’s 800 meters, junior Paramveer Chohan in the men’s 400 hurdles, Iffy Joyner in the men’s discus, sophomore

Camryn Rogers in the women’s hammer throw and senior Silviu Bocancea in the men’s hammer.

Corrales-Nelson ran a personal-best time of 23.16 in the 200 meters and was 14th overall but qualified based on finishing third in her heat. Her time ranks No. 2 all-time at Cal and set a Philippines national record.

On Friday, Corrales-Nelson ran a personal best in the 100 hurdles but failed to move on.

Kaukolahti, ranked No. 5 in the NCAA, had a wind-aided qualifying mark of 52-5 1/4 on his first attempt to easily secure his second straight trip to the nationals. He wound up in fifth place.

Viltz qualified ninth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 13.85 seconds. Teammate Jasher Foster just missed a trip to the nationals, finishing 13th in 13.96.
