It stands to reason that the Arizona Cardinals could have some solid fantasy players in 2019. This is partly due to a new, innovative head coach, and partly because they will be playing comeback in several games. It also helps that they have number 1 overall pick Kyler Murray running this Kingsbury Air-Raid offense.
Here are the fantasy players you should start and sit in this contest:
Even though it's Murray's first career game, he is a special player and should put up above average fantasy numbers. It's still unknown how Kliff Kingsbury's offense will look but they should be high typo and spread the ball around.
I wrote earlier that Christian Kirk is the receiver to own on the Cardinals offense. Hopefully you all added him to your teams because after this week his trade value will increase. Kirk should see the most targets on the team and is also one of their best "big-play" threats.
Cardinals have struggled to stop the run all preseason and it probably won't change opening week. Johnson starting to come on strong towards the end of 2018. He should have a decent workload and could get a breakaway run. He's someone I'd look to have in my daily fantasy lineups.
Cardinals/Lions Defense units
This game could be a real low scoring affair like the Thursday night Packer Bears game was, but it's not worth taking a chance on them in this matchup. Cardinals struggle to stop the run, so Cards defense won't be worth playing. Lions might have trouble containing Kyler Murray. So the upside just isn't there.
This one saddens me. I was the biggest Isabella fan during draft season, but Isabella is listed near the bottom of the WR depth chart. It will likely take him a few weeks before getting involved in the offense.
The Lions have build their team around the trenches. They want to run the ball and and stop opponents from running the ball. With the big guys they have along the defensive line, it's going to be tough sledding for David Johnson and company. His work will have to come through the air.
