Olivier Giroud 'open to a new challenge' as he enters final year of contract

Olivier Giroud is in his final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge, and he has opened up on his future and his potential destinations if he were to head for the exit doors in West London next summer.

He has revealed that he would be interested in heading over to America to play in the MLS, and said any decision made would be a collective one as a family.

The 32-year-old is currently away with France on international duty, and spoke to RMC Sport about a potential move across the Atlantic Ocean:

"MLS, for my family, my children who speak English, it is interesting. In a year? Two years? I don’t know when. But of course, I will be open to a new challenge."

Despite playing an instrumental part in the Blues' Europa League triumph last season, Giroud hasn't been first choice this season under Frank Lampard.

Tammy Abraham has taken the reigns upfront, and it appears the Frenchman will leave the club once his contract expires at the end of the season.
