Patrick Mahomes captured plenty of viewers this season with his play on the football field, and now he intends to remain just as visible during the offseason with a slew of marketing opportunities and endorsement deals.
Patty Flakes breakfast cereal is already in the works, according to Leigh Steinberg. He made the remark during an interview on the Bloomberg Business of Sports podcast. Both Heinz and Hunt's ketchup brands have made endorsement inquiries to have Mahomes front their products. Steinberg also mentioned automotive, apparel and soft drinks as other possibilities.
“As soon as the off-season hits, we’ve got a load of different deals ready for public airing," Steinberg said. "The goal has been to keep him off billboards and television in Kansas City and allow his play on the field to develop.”
Mahomes has a handful of marketing deals already in place. The most notable in Kansas City is the CommunityAmerica Credit Union ad campaign featuring a television spot featuring Mahomes.
