Arizona State gets Revenge on Utah

Arizona State went to the Beehive State to get a must win for a team currently looking like one of the first four teams out after a lost to Colorado last Wednesday night. Leading the way for Arizona State is Rob Edwards with 28 points in a must needed 98-87 win over the Utah.

Thursday night in early January these two faced off in Tempe. In that game Arizona State jumped out to an early double digit lead only to see their lead drop in the final two minutes to five points.

Now in late February on Saturday night, Arizona State again comes flying out to an early lead only to see it closed in the final two minutes to four points right at half.

"We didn't settle," Edwards said. "We didn't let the gas up. We kept going to them the whole game."

Arizona State and Utah in the first half were lighting it up from the three-point line. As both teams came out in zone and quickly made the switch to man as the 3-pointer were coming in bundles.

They were shooting 13-of-25 combined from down town in the first half. The difference between them was that Arizona State hit more threes.

The difference in this match up is the aggressiveness of Arizona State showed. As the Utes came out in the zone again in the second half and this time getting exposed on movement. Weather it was passing through the zone or driving through it, Arizona State had their way with it. Arizona State had four starters in double digits.

The floor general was Remy Martin. His numbers are not eye popping but on multiple occasion he had the pass that would lead to a basketball or them getting fouled.

Martin looked like he was just in control against the Utes zone. Weather it was finding Cheatham down low or Edwards for three. Martin seemed to just know where everyone was or where they were going to be.

For Arizona State, they are in must wins for their next couple games. Their next match up with be at home against a Stanford team led by KZ Okpala. As they just beat down UCLA on Saturday night.
