Auburn Commitment JJ Evans Highlights and Scouting Report

Highlights and a Scouting Report on Auburn Commitment JJ Evans of Montevallo High School.

JJ Evans (6'3/185) is a wide receiver from Montevallo High School in Alabama that is committed to the Auburn Tigers.

Evans has a great frame and terrific body control. He adjusts to the ball well in the air and is always open because of his ability to elevate or shield defenders from the ball with his superior size.

But he's so much more than a big framed possession receiver. He's got excellent balance, quickness, and top end speed. In short, he's a nightmare after the catch as well. He can make a man miss, out run him to the corner, or break a tackle.

Evans had 18 touchdowns and 1,800 yards receiving as a junior, and it only takes watching a couple of plays of his film to see why.

I see Rivals has this kid listed as an ATH. We'll skip how much I hate labeling kids "ATH" at this stage, but I can understand the willingness to think he could be a lights out safety as well. Because he could be. Despite my usual leaning towards defense, I think this kid can be a monster Wide receiver in college.
