Former Dallas WR was released by Cardinals on Sept. 1.

The rumors from earlier today that embattled Browns WR Josh Gordon is looking to sign with Dallas were squashed before kickoff of the Cowboys' Sunday night tilt with the Giants.

However, The Dallas Morning News and other outlets are reporting that the team will sign former Cowboy Brice Butler, who was released by the Cardinals on September 1.

Butler caught at least a dozen passes in each of the last four seasons with the Cowboys, including three touchdown receptions in 2016 and 2017.

No doubt one of Butler's major selling points with the Cowboys is QB Dak Prescott's familiarity with the 6-foot-3, 220-pound wide receiver.
