FRISCO - This is a Tale of Two Tanks. Dallas Cowboys standout DeMarcus Lawrence responded on social media Monday after a video went viral showing him snub a young Giants fan who asked for an autograph. ... this coming moments after my 1-on-1 locker room visit with the star defensive end.
Above, our 1-on-1 visit in which Tank is pretty mellow about his work in the 35-17 victory over the Giants. And below?
"It’s crazy how you fans want to attack me for not signing for a kid. It’s more than one kid that come to the game with Cowboys jerseys and never get to meet any player. So if I’m honest with my own kids I will never treat your kid better than mine so suck it up. #SorryNotSorry," Lawrence wrote on twitter.
“GET THE RIGHT JERSEY SON!” is exactly the right tone, I'm sure Cowboys Nation agrees. Giants vs. Cowboy is supposed to be "Us against Them.'' It's supposed to be a healthy "sports-hate'' for each other. Giants fans, true Giants fans, would never want a Cowboys autograph. And vice-versa.
And there is something else here.
So this is a family of Giants fans ... Mom pushes son out to get an autograph from famous Giants tormentor Lawrence of a Cowboys team they are supposed to dislike? And it's being videoed?
Something doesn't smell right here. ... and maybe all Tank Lawrence really did -- in addition to adding to his Cowboys lore with a solid meme -- is sniff that out.
