A quotebook from Thursday night's preseason opener

See what rookies Andre Dillard, Miles Sanders, Marken Michel, and others, had to say

Before the Eagles return to practice on Saturday are some quotes following Thursday night’s 27-10 loss to the Tennessee Titans in the preseason opener.

Call it a quotebook:

VIDEO: Andre Dillard talks about his first pro game:

“It's great to see them live, not only running the football, but pass protection, catching the ball. We have a lot of running backs right now, so it gives everybody an opportunity early, in this first preseason game to give everybody opportunities and touches to show us where they are and what they can do.” – Head coach Doug Pederson on his running back rotation.

“I felt like it was a good day with the little bit I played. I was just excited to hit somebody else. We weren’t playing the same defense that we have for the last two weeks, so it was fun. We got out there and just kind of did what we could and we’ll get back to it on Saturday.” – Receiver Marken Michel on his emotions after a 75-yard touchdown catch, his first NFL TD.

“It was crazy. It is everything I have been dreaming about. With a place like this, the fan base is crazy. Coming from Penn State, I felt that same vibe I felt at Penn State.” – Rookie running back Miles Sanders, who played just six snaps, on taking the field as a pro for the first time.

“I felt like it was a good day with the little bit I played. I was just excited to hit somebody else. We weren’t playing the same defense that we have for the last two weeks, so it was fun. We got out there and just kind of did what we could and we’ll get back to it on Saturday.” – Tight end Dallas Goedert (pictured above), who had had three catches for 50 yards (16.7 yards per catch), on his performance.

“There is that aspect that kind of adds that inner bodyguard in all of us … it’s live now and something can really happen.” – Rookie left tackle Andre Dillard on how different it was playing his first NFL game versus a routine camp practice.
