WATCH: Remembering No. 84 Roddy White with 84 days until Atlanta Falcons opener

The Falcons will open their season in 84 days. WR Roddy White was one of the greatest player in franchise to wear No. 84

It's June 16. That doesn't mean much to the average Falcons fan, but diehards will know that as of today, there are 12 weeks until the Falcons kick off the 2019 regular season against the Minnesota Vikings on Sept. 8.

That's 84 days. With that in mind, let's take a look back at history to see who has worn No. 84 for the Falcons. Well, you don't have to dive too far back into Falcons history for a great player who donned that number -- wide receiver Roddy White.

Last week, the Falcons announced that White would be inducted into the team's ring of honor, and deservingly so. White played his entire 11-year career in Atlanta, catching 808 passes for 10,863 yards and 63 touchdowns.

Julio Jones will likely pass White in all three of those categories. Heck, Jones could catch White in receiving yards in 84 days during Week 1, but the former No. 84 is still first in all three of those categories in Falcons history.

White's best years came from 2008-12, which was a hugely important time in franchise history as it was Matt Ryan's first five seasons. White played a major role in Ryan's development into one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL today.

From 2008-12, White posted 480 receptions for more than 6,500 yards and 43 touchdowns. He made four Pro Bowls and earned an All-Pro bid during the 2010 season when he set career highs with 115 receptions and 1,389 receiving yards.

White also posted a 1,000-yard receiving season in 2007. He reached at least the 1,150-yard plateau six years in a row.
White truly belongs among the franchise's elite players in the Falcons ring of honor, which is an honor he will receive against the Carolina Panthers on Dec. 8.
