Quick Hits: No Gray Area, Right-hander Dominates Angels in 4-Inning Appearance

SCOTTSDALE, Az. -- Jon Gray allowed one hit and struck out five in four shutout innings of his third start of the spring. Gray has allowed only one run in nine innings in spring training.

--The Rockies suffered a 6-5 loss. Rayan Gonzalez gave up four runs in the eighth inning, retiring only one of the six batters he faced. He gave up three singles plus a double to Torii Hunter, Jr., and walked a batter.

--Raimel Tapia was 1-for-2 and drove in two runs. He is hitting .320 this spring.

--Sam Hilliard came off the bench to deliver a two-run double that brought the Rockies to within a run in the bottom of the eighth.

--Relievers Jake McGee (9.00 ERA) and Bryan Shaw (9.82) both allowed one run in one inning.

--Closer Wade Davis will make his second appearance of the spring on Thursday against the Cubs in Mesa.
