Quick Hits: Roberto Ramos Returns to Mexico With Power, Rockies 5, D-backs 1

MONTERREY, Mexico -- Roberto Ramos, brought over from the minor league camp for the trip to his native Mexico, had an impact in the Rockies' 5-1 victory against the D-backs.

Ramos, who won the Class A California League Home Run Derby last summer, went 2-for-3 with two RBI, a home run and a double. Ramos was born in Hermosillo, but was drafted by the Rockies out of College of the Canyons.

-- Jeff Hoffman drew the start, and allowed two hits and a walk, striking out five in four scorless innings.

-- Pat Valaika lifted his average to .400 with two hits, including a triple, and an RBI.

--Michael Tauchman (.250) was 3-for-4 with a double.

--The two teams play again on Sunday before returning to Scottsdale, Ariz. Tyler Anderson will start for the Rockies.
