Quick Hits: Rockies, Twins Tie 5-5 in Final Spring Tuneup

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Rockies closed out the spring schedule in a 5-5 tie against the Twins at Hammond Stadium on Tuesday. They bused across Alligator Alley to Miami after the game, and will open the regular season against the Marlins on Thursday.

--Jon Gray started for the Rockies, gave up three runs in the first inning, but did not allow a run in the next two innings. Gray will start Sunday’s game against the Marlins.

--Relievers Bryan Shaw, Scott Oberg, DJ Johnson and Harrison Musgrave combined for two scoreless innings. David Holman, who is in the minor league camp but was brought to Florida to fill out the pitching staff, gave up a sixth-inning run, which put the Twins up 4-3.

--Sam Hilliard hit his second home run of the spring in the eighth inning, tying the score at 4-4.
