Rest assured, the Rockies had reason to be smiling on Wednesday night. They didn't just win a game against the Brewers -- something they had only done twice in their previous 14 meetings -- but they did it with a flourish -- an 11-4 victory, which came after the Rockies had scored just six runs total in losing the five previous games between the two teams. It was the most runs the Rockies have scored in a game this season.

And they did it by equaling the ninth-largest run total the Rockies have amassed in their history in Milwaukee -- the sixth-largest total at Miller Park, which opened in 2001.

In that 2-12 stretch the Rockies did suffer an 11-10 loss (May 11, 2018 at Coors Field), but they also scored only six runs total during a five-game losing streak that was snapped by Wednesday's victory.

And while allowing four runs might not seem like they shut down the Brewers, but consider in that 2-12 struggle the Rockies held the Brewers to fewer than four runs only twice.

Twenty-eight different players have been involved in the 14 games, in which the Rockies were 2012, led by Nolan Arenado, Charlie Blackmon and Trevor Story, each of whom had 42 at-bats. Arenado and Story both played in 11 of the 12 games, and Blackmon in 10. Story only had 11 hits, but they were for extra bases -- three doubles, a triple and seven home runs.

Arenado did get his revenge on Wednesday, hitting two home runs, and Story added his eighth home since the start of last season, along with 21 RBI in 10 games against the Brewers, the most home runs of any player against the Brewers in that stretch, and tied with Marcell Ozuna of the Carrinals for the RBI lead.

Eight pitchers have suffered the 12 losses during the 2-10 stretch, including German Marquez going 0-3, and Tyler Anderson and Kyle Freeland both losing twice. Freeland, however, had a 3.50 ERA compared to 7.20 for Anderson. Freeland also had a win. Scott Oberg picked up the other win, in relief.
