Spring Training Game 3: Rockies (2-1) On the Offensive in Win Against Cubs

The Rockies earned a 12-6 victory against the Cubs at Salt River Field. They scored 12 runs for the second consecutive days. They scored as many as 12 runs only once in 2019, exactly one year ago Sunday (won 12-5 at Kansas City on Feb. 25, 2019).

On the Mound

RHP Wes Parsons made his first start of Spring Training and fired two scoreless innings with one hit, two walks and one strikeout.

LHP Phillip Diehl struck out three of four Cubs batters faced over 1.1 innings of relief in his first Cactus League action

of 2020.

LHP Ryan Rolison made his first Spring appearance and allowed four unearned runs with two strikeouts over 1.2 innings of work.

At the Plate

Brett Boswell had his second consecutive multi-hit game, going 2-for-3 with two runs and a double … is 5-for-7 across

the first three games.

Drew Butera made his first start at catcher this Spring and laced a two-run double to right-center in the second inning.

Yonathan Daza made the start in right field and hit a pair of RBI singles, going 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI in his third Cactus League game.

Elias Díaz was the designated hitter and went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and one RBI.

Josh Fuentes went 3-for-3, all singles and scored two runs with one RBI.
