Farm Report: Grand Junction Comes Up Short in Playoff Pitching Duel with Ogden

Dodgers' affiliate Ogden gets two chances at home to finish off the Rockies Rookie affiliate Grand Junction in the opening round of the Rookie Level Pioneer League playoffs. Ogden claimed a 2-1 victory in Game 1 of the best-of-three series, which was played in Grand Junction on Sunday.

Helcris Olivares worked five shutout innings, but after issuing a walk to open the sixth, Olivares gave way to reliever boby Johnson, who eventually issued a bases-loaded walk to force in Ogden's first run. After Colin Simpson homered in the bottom of the sixth to tie the score, but Andrew Shaps homered in the top of the ninth off Jacob Kostychock to provide the winning margin for Ogden, an affiliate of the Dodgers.

It was only the fourth run Kostyshock, an eighth-round draft choice out of Arkansas, has allowed this season.
