Sam Hilliard is making his presence felt in the Triple-A Albuquerque lineup.
The one-time junior college pitcher who blossomed as an outfielder when he transferred to Wichita State, is hitting .254, but that .254 includes team-highs in home runs (24), RBI (69), runs scored (68) and stolen bases (16) for the Isotopes.
In Tuesday's Games:
AAA Albuquerque (37-53) -- The Isotopes were off for the Triple-A All-Star Game. The Isotopes resume play Thursday. The Isotopes list their starter for that game as undecided. That could point toward Kyle Freeland being recalled by the Rockies. Thursday would be his day to start.
AA Hartford (9-10) is off for the Double-A All-Star Game.
Advanced A Lancaster (12-8, 46-42) lost 9-1 at Inland Empire (Angels). Antonio Santos (3-5, 4.18) suffered the loss, giving up four runs, only one of which was earned, on five hits and two walks, striking out eight in 6 1/3 innings. Taylor Snyder tripled in the third, and scored the JetHawks lone run on a sacrifice fly by LJ Hatch.
A Asheville (9-10, 38-51) won 9-4 against Greenville (Braves). Coco Montes (.246) drove in four runs, and Niko Decolati (277) hit a two-run home run. Ryan Feltner (5-6, 5.76) allowed one run on four hits and three walks, striking out five in five innings. PJ Poulin (2.88) earned his second save, allowing one run on two hits, striking out three in 1 1/3 innings.
Short-Season A Boise (13-13) lost 8-2 at Hillsboro (D-backs). Eris Filpo (2-1, 5.04) suffered the loss, allowing six runs on seven hits and three walks, striking out two. Vladimir Dilone (.342) was 2-for-2 with two walks and an RBI, delivering the team's only hit in 16 at-bats with a runner in scoring position.
Rookie Grand Junction (12-11) lost 12-5 against Great Falls (White Sox). Helcris Olivarez (1-1, 4.97) allowed seven runs, five earned, on seven hits, including three home runs, and two walks in 3 2/3 innings. Julio Carreras (2.76) was 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI.
