GRAND JUNCTION, Colorado —Grand Junction infielder Christian Koss was named the Pioneer League Player Of The Week for the week of July 8-14, Minor League Baseball announced on Monday.
In six games, he went 11-for-20 hitting .550 with three doubles, two home runs, and eight RBI. Koss was the Rockies 12th-round draft choice out of Cal Irvine last month.
As a junior, hit hit .307 for Irvine with 12 doubles, five triples, five home runs and 30 RBI in 54 games. A shortstop, Koss also had 11 stolen bases.
He is the second Rockies’ player to receive this award in 2019. Max George was named a Pioneer League Player Of The Week for the week of June 16-23.
