Grand Junction Rockies shortstop Christian Koss added another award to his growing list of acocmplishments.
Koss, a two-time selection as the Pioneer League Player of the Week this season, was selected the Pioneer League Player of the Month for July, Minor League Baseball announced Tuesday.
Koss led the Pioneer League in RBI (29), total bases (66), on-base percentage (.482) and OPS (1.207) in July, and was second in batting average (.374), hits (34), home runs (seven) and slugging percentage (.725). He finished third in the league in runs (20) and triples (two). Koss posted 12 multi-hit games, including six straight from July 5–12.
Koss, 21, was selected by Colorado in the 12th round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of California-Irvine.
