Grand Junction Loses Pair of 1-Run Games, Eliminated In 1st Round of Playoffs

Dodger affiliate Ogden, which won both halves in the Pioneer League Southern Division, retained that winning touch in the first-round of the post-season. Ogden swept the Rockies Grand Junction affiliate in the best-of-three match-up. Ogden clinched the division spot in the championship series with a 6-5 win at home on Monday.

Ogden won the series opener 2-1 at Grand Junction on Sunday.

Eric Hepple, who struck out two and gave up one hit in the 10th inning Monday, suffered the loss when the winning run scored on a two-out error by shortstop Ezequiel Tovar. Tovar was 2-for-5 with a run scored and RBI.

Pioneer League MVP Colin Simpson was 1-for-3 with two RBI, a walk, sacrifice fly and double. Julio Careers was 4-for-6 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI.

Anderson Amarista started the game and allowed two runs on five hits in 3 1/3 innings.
