The next step for Kyle Freeland in his return to the Rockies rotation comes on Friday night at Yankee Stadium. Freeland returned to the rotation last Saturday against the Reds. The final line was four innings and five runs, although the defense contributed most of the trouble for Freeland without being charged with errors for the mental and phsyical miscues.
Happ, who has enjoyed a resurgence with the Yankees, will be facing the Rockies for the first time since 2016.
Freeland is facing the Yankees for the first time. Happ has faced seven of the Rockies hitters with success. They have hit a combined .227 against him, including Nolan Arenado and Charlie Blackmon, both hitting .222.
