Chi Chi Gonzalez makes his second start for the Rockies -- his second big-league start in three years. Having recovered from Tommy John surgery, he debuted for the Rockies at San Francisco last week, allowing three runs in five innings on Tuesday, and suffered the loss. Maeda has a long history against the Rockies. He is 0-2 in his last four starts against them.
Gonzalez made his first big-league start with an NL team on Tuesday at San Francisco. As a result, he has limited exposure to the current Dodgers.
Maeda presents a challenge for Arenado. Arenado has hit .120 against Maeda in his career, the second lowest average Arenado has against a starting pitcher against whom he has at least 15 at-bats.
