The Houston Astros came into existence as the Houston Colt 45s, a part of the initial expansion, along with the New York Mets, of the National League in 1962. They went their first 55 years without winning a World Championship. That finally ended in 2017. And while they had a better off-season in 2018, winning 103 games, they were eliminated in the ALCS by the eventual World Champion Red Sox.

They get another chance this year. The odds are currently 2-to-1 on them winning the World Series, tops among teams with post-season possibilities. Right behind the Astros at 3-to-1 are the Dodgers, who haven't won a world championship since 1988.
