I'm a little worried we'll see what happened a couple years ago with the D wearing down late in some games because the offense can't do anything. I'm really scared that Wisconsin puts it to us and wins going away. I hope they can pull it together, between the fumbles, dropped passes, missed throws to wide open guys... I just can't see them making this many mistakes in tandem every game.
Can Michigan go 5-2? I would say no. They have to build confidence in this offense with success on the field. They haven't done it yet. Army showed the Big Ten how to bust up this offense . Blitz them! Michigan needs play makers. Not just athletic guys who know how to practice well and have their fundamentals down. When the chips are down and its the 4th quarter can you hit a WR in stride in tight coverage for a game winning TD? Shea is looking over his shoulder and is playing not to lose the game instead of playing loose and playing to win the game. Surprise for me is how good other teams in the Big Ten are. Maryland, Penn State, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Purdue, Indiana and of course Ohio State. Michigan has there hands full. Last season was the season for high expectations not this year. Its another adjustment year for Michigan. 5 losses is possible with this team if their offense stumbles and players start taking shots and getting hurt especially at QB.
No. Harbaugh may or may not be holding back the dynamic offense that we were expecting, but the fact of the matter is that he does not have a quarterback for that offense, or for any other offense that would make Michigan a legit top 10 team. As has been the case for the last several years (at least), Michigan is still in search of its "franchise" quarterback.
Shea looks like damaged goods. The real question is; how bad is McCaffrey, and is there a bigger pile of hype machine garbage than this staff, when Patterson has clearly gone completely into turtle mode, and Dylan is chewing his nails on the bench?
Unfortunately, no. My heart says yes, but the scars from all the other years of Harbaugh tell me no. I'm not taking any kool-aid until we beat OSU, which is why we are not winning anything important. I want to believe this year is like Harbaugh's first year where we had a ton of questions, but the team got better, however this year it feels different because now we have a history of the issues plaguing the team that do not ever seem to get resolved.
