Just a couple of short weeks ago, Mansfield (OH) 2020 3-star cornerback Angelo Grose seemed to have his recruitment wrapped up announcing he was committed to Cincinnati back on May 23rd.
But that all changed for Grose when a recent offer from Michigan State gave the 5-foot-10, 170-pound more to think about as Grose recently decommitted from the Bearcats and scheduled a visit to East Lansing for June 21st.
Spartan Nation recently caught up with Grose to discuss his decision and the offer he received from the Spartans and Grose said that it was obviously a big deal for him considering he’s always wanted to play in the Big Ten.
“It was huge,” he said. “It’s always been a dream of mine to play in the Big Ten.”
Along with his offers from Michigan State and Cincinnati, Grose also holds offers from Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Kent State, Miami (OH), Toledo and Youngstown State.
Grose, who is also a track standout at Mansfield, is known for being a lock-down cornerback and one of the fastest players in the 2020 class as he told Spartan Nation that he’s been timed at 4.46 in the 40-yard dash.
When it comes to his recruitment, Grose said that he’s been in contact with Michigan State defensive backs Coach Paul Haynes, who extended the offer to him and noted that he’s been able to develop a relationship with Haynes and that Haynes has already left a positive impression with him.
“He’s a real great guy,” he said. “I feel like he’s a really good coach.”
Grose will be on campus in East Lansing for a visit with the Spartans on June 21st.
