And now for the grand finale.

Weeks after starting his all-time position-by-position rankings, NFL historian John Turney of Pro Football Journal delivers his final roll call – this time naming the best NFL head coaches since World War II.

As expected, the list begins with Vince Lombardi and Bill Belichick … in that order. And while that won’t make Patriots’ fans happy, there’s a reason the league named the Super Bowl trophy after one of them. Vince Lombardi not only resurrected the Green Bay Packers; he turned Green Bay into Titletown, USA, with the Packers winning five NFL championships in seven years – including the first two Super Bowls.

The names at the top are familiar to everyone, but the order might catch some by surprise. Don Shula, for instance, won more games than anyone in NFL history … and he’s not in the Top Five. So where is he? Start reading Turney’s article below:
