No surprise -- Preseason Coaches All-SEC features 16 players from Alabama

Tide's top draft prospect is wide receiver Jerry Jeudy -- No. 3 on Rob Rang's Big Board

It is hardly a shock -- but is a decent precursor to the NFL draft -- that Alabama placed a league-leading 16 representatives on the 2019 Preseason Coaches All-Southeastern Conference Football Team,

Georgia was second with 10 representatives, while Auburn and LSU each had nine.

Although a lot of attention focuses on quarterbacks, in this case Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa, the top draft-eligible candidate in the SEC is the Tide's wide receiver, Jerry Jeudy. In fact, NFLDraftScout.com analyst Rob Rang listed him No. 3 on his big board, with these notes:

The Stats (2018): 68 receptions for 1,315 yards (19.3 avg.) and 14 TDs

The Skinny: Of all the great receivers in Alabama’s storied history, perhaps none of them can match Jeudy’s elusiveness and breakaway speed.

Here is Rang's full Big Board

The SEC begins its 2019 season Saturday, Aug. 24 when Florida takes on Miami at 7 p.m. ET in Orlando.
