The Giants signed nine players to reserve/futures contracts Monday, including _ five of whom were on the team's practice squad in 2018.
The players are:
- RB Robert Martin
- WR Brittan Golden
- OL Jylan Ware
- OL Victor Salako
- DE Jake Ceresna
- LB Myles Humphrey
- LB Jonathan Anderson
- CB Ronald Zamort
- LS Taybor Pepper
Martin, Ware, Salako, Humphrey and Zamort were on the Giants’ practice squad for at least part, if not all of the 2018 season.
Anderson is an undrafted free agent who spent three seasons (2015-2017) with the Bears, for whom he racked up 40 tackles in 31 games. He also had a tackle for a loss and one interception. He had a brief stay with the Cardinals in 2018 after being waived off Injured Reserve by the Bears on Sept. 24, 2018.
Pepper, who played in four NFL games for the Packers in 2017, provides a backup plan should long-time long snapper Zak DeOssie, who is set to be an unrestricted free agent this year, retires.
Ceresna, a native of Danbury, Conn.,recorded eight sacks and 32 tackles for the CFL’s Edmonton Eskimos in 2018.
Golden, the oldest of the group at 30, worked out for the Giants in the summer, but was not signed in part, due to a benign tumor having been discovered in his mouth during his physical.
Golden spent time on the practice squads of the Bears and Jaguars before finally catching on with the Cardinals in 2013, where he remained until 2017, bouncing between the active roster and the practice squad.
Golden has appeared in 44 games for the Cardinals with one start. He's caught 18 balls for 293 yards and a touchdown.
Golden also has experience as a kickoff and punt returner. He has 15 kickoff returns for 347 yards and a long of 49, with nine returns going for 20+ yards. as a punt returner, he has 109 yards on 17 returns (6.4 yards avg.) with a long of 15 yards.
Humphrey was an undrafted free agent by the Ravens who, after spending the 2018 training camp in Baltimore, was cut and signed to the team's practice squad. He was cut from the practice squad on September 26.
