The news was good for Giants rookie cornerback DeAndre Baker, who was diagnosed with a sprained left knee.

East Rutherford, N.J. -- The first sign of hope concerning Giants rookie cornerback DeAndre Baker was when he was spotted among his teammates watching the 11-on-11 drills, helmet in hand, and with no wrap or brace on either knee.

As it turned out,Baker's injury, which happened Sunday when he felt something in his knee during warm-ups, turned out to be nothing more than a sprain that will have him day to day.

In other injury news, linebacker Alec Ogletree (calf) remained sidelined. Cornerback Grant Haley (shoulder) was limited and rookie running back Jonathan Hilliman remains int he concussion protocol..

Head coach Pat Shurmur also said he hasn't heard anything yet regarding receiver Golden Tate's appeal of a four-game suspension. Tate had his hearing last Tuesday.

Instead of referring to the Kansas City Model, how about the Packers model...how many years did Aaron sit behind Brett?
