The Giants thought enough of undrafted free agent Evan Brown to keep him around on the 53-man roster all of last year so he could work on developing at both center and guard. Despite having him on the roster, Brown never got a snap on the offense.
Although Brown is said to be a hard worker, his roster spot is up for grabs. Spencer Pulley and Jon Halapio are locked in competition for the starting center job, with the runner up likely the first off the bench if there is an injury at center or guard.
The Giants also added James O'Hagan to the roster to compete as a developmental prospect.
O'Hagan graded out as Pro Football Focus' top overall center in college football thanks to his No. 1 run-blocking grade, so if they do keep a third center/guard on the roster, it's going to come down to either Brown or O'Hagan.
