MBB: Four-star prospect Chandler Lawson commits to Oregon

Lawson joins Chris Duarte and Isaac Johnson to make upOregon's current three-man class

It was a good day for Oregon basketball.

The Ducks are currently in New York to take part in the 2K Empire Classic at Madison Square Garden, but that didn’t stop them from making a splash in the recruiting world.

Four-star forward Chandler Lawson committed to Oregon, announced via 730 AM SBNation in Memphis and on his Twitter account. The 6-foot-8, 200-pound athlete is rated the No. 14 power forward and 77th best player in the nation, according to 247sports.

Lawson, who chose the Ducks over Kansas, Georgia Tech, Memphis, Mississippi and others, is from Wooddale High School and expected to make an immediate impact for the Ducks who could lose freshmen Bol Bol and Louis King and senior Paul White after this season.

He is just the third recruit of the 2019 class for the Ducks, joining junior college star Chris Duarte and four-star big man Isaac Johnson. Johnson won’t be on campus until after he takes his two-year LDS mission.

The Ducks are still in the running for highly coveted prospects Cole Anthony, Cassius Stanley and CJ Walker.
