SB: Ducks move up in national rankings following 5-0 start to season

The Ducks have the chance to justify their jump in the rankings by facing three nationally-ranked teams this weekend

After a perfect start to the season in the Kajikawa Classic, Oregon is starting to gain the respect it deserves. The Ducks, who began the season No. 25 in the coaches’ poll and unranked in the Softball poll, have moved up to No. 19 in the NFCA poll and No. 22 in the USA Softball poll.

Oregon will have a chance to justify the jump in rankings when they travel to Florida this weekend to play in the St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational. The Ducks will face three nationally-ranked teams in their four games after seeing none last week.

Oregon begins Friday against No. 8 LSU and No. 23 James Madison before facing FAU and No. 18 Kentucky on Saturday.

The Pac-12 is well represented in the poll with five teams ranked. UCLA leads the bunch at No. 2 while Washington is No. 5. The Arizona schools, Arizona and Arizona State, check in at No. 9 and No. 14, respectively.
