Report: TE Matt LaCosse suffered sprained ankle in preseason opener, won't play vs. Titans

The Patriots tight will miss some time, but it won't be anything significant.

New England Patriots tight end Matt LaCosse, who exited the Patriots' preseason opener with an undisclosed injury, has been diagnosed with an ankle sprain and will miss Saturday's preseason game against the Tennessee Titans, according to Jim McBride of the Boston Globe.

It's good to hear that LaCosse's injury was minor. After the team traded for Eric Saubert on Monday, the worry was that it was because LaCosse may miss significant time due to the injury he suffered in Week 1 of the preseason. But it looks like New England just wanted to add some more depth to the position.
