We've heard it all about Rob Gronkowski. He's not lifting; he won't be sure how he'll feel when football starts up and he's not playing; there's a 40 percent chance he could come back in 2019.
Now you can add Rich Eisen's comments to the Gronkowski saga.
On Wednesday, Eisen, host of "The Rich Eisen Show" was asked how he felt about the percentage (40) that Mike Florio said his source gave him to gauge a possible return for Gronkowski this season.
“Gronk will be there in civilian clothes,” Eisen said. “and he’ll look around, and he’ll see the fireworks going off, and he’ll feel really good. He’s gone through the offseason workout of his own, he’ll feel really good, and then he’ll look around and go, ‘Why the hell am I not doing this right now?'”
I call from Brady to Gronkowski will happen, states Eisen.
“This is going to happen,” he said. “Somebody in the information business is going to find out the point by which he has to inform New England that he’s coming back because paperwork needs to be filed, and removal from retirement list has to officially be done, and then there’s going to have to be some form of being on a roster by a certain point in order to be able to play in a certain game. That information is going to come out. I don’t know if it’s going to be Ian [Rapoport] or [Adam] Schefter, name it, or [Mike] Florio, somebody’s going to report that. And it’s just going to spark up all sorts of questions.”
Eisen proclaims that he is just simply laying down the blueprint for what Gronkowski will do.
“I’m road-mapping it for you folks, the way this is going to work,” he said.
When asked what his very own percentage chance was of the former Patriots tight end returning, Eisen went all in.
“One hundred percent. Have I stuttered in the last month at all?”
Keep in mind, "The Rich Eisen Show" was the same platform Gronkowski joined recently in which he said he "may not know what to do with himself" when football ramps up and he's playing. So there could be a different vibe that Eisen got from Gronkowski in person compared to everyone else looking from the outside, in.
