It appears there's a gray cloud hovering above Washington Redskins running back Derrius Guice. After missing all of his rookie year with an ACL injury, it appeared he was out of the woods and ready to vault onto the NFL scene in 2019.
He was held out for much of the preseason, save for a few carries in the dress rehearsal game, leaving him fresh for the season opener in Philadelphia. Low and behold, that didn't last long. After netting just 18 yards on 10 carries in a game where Washington should;ve been running the rock a lot more, he apparently injured his good knee. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports he went for an MRI this morning.
Guice and the Redskins are set to take on the Dallas Cowboys this coming weekend in their home opener at Fed Ex Field.
According to JP Finlay of NBC Sports, Guice may end up having stem cell therapy to avoid further surgery.
